Known Biases

All data has biases. We believe in disclosing them upfront so you can interpret benchmarks appropriately.

Seasonality

Data may reflect specific time periods; seasonal trades show higher variance

Regional skew

Primarily US-focused; may not reflect international markets

Lead source skew

Results vary significantly by acquisition channel (organic vs paid vs referral)

Trade mix skew

HVAC, plumbing, and electrical are overrepresented; niche trades have smaller samples

Survivorship bias

Data skews toward successful, established contractors

Update Schedule

Benchmarks are reviewed quarterly. Updates are published when significant new data becomes available.

Limitations & Disclaimers

While we strive for accuracy, all benchmarks have limitations. Please consider:

Regional variations may differ significantly from national averages
Individual contractor results depend on lead quality, service area, and execution
Historical data may not predict future performance
Some metrics based on limited sample sizes or self-reported data
Benchmarks should be used as directional guidance, not guarantees
